The home: Op shopping the Chapel Street!
I have had a recent obsession with trawling through the op shops of Chapel St and it has been an overwhelming experience of bargain hunting and pure joy! I just love it and am
Completely obsessed with finding wee gems!
Last weekends purchase - two vintage enamelware pots that are awesome addition to the house kitchen! Love them and only $25 for both.
Check out the op shops at the Windsor and Parhan end of Chapel Street - the new Salvation Army store located on Chapel is amazing and not to mention the old and established Bazaar is a treat beyond belief!
Food:Borsch Vodka and Tears.
A Cafe on Chapel Street serving Russian/Polish cuisine and it is divine - coupled with a girls day out and a mimosa at lunch time it was the perfect beginning to the day.
The gnocchi was light and beautifully smothered with pesto and Parmesan, the ladies Borsch (beetroot soup) was hearty and exactly what was needed for a cold winters lunch.
What I could not get over was how beautiful the crockery used to serve my delicious food on was. Whilst eating I was trying to search for some markings to purchase some. Cue discovery of Polish pottery and cue google search for Boleslawiec pottery. It didn’t help that when I asked the waitress where she got these from she said the owner went to Poland every year and made large purchases and shipped them back to the cafe! However I did find some online sites which ship to Australia which is far cheaper than purchasing them from specialty stores in Melbourne such as McIver and some only carry a very small range.
If you have a love of pottery and all things pretty,
look up Polish pottery and you will be wowed as I still am.
Fashion: Shoes galore!
Slight obsession much for shoes?! I feel your love ladies!
I have found myself shoe obsessed in the past month! Probably most likely stemming from my most recent trip to Bangkok where my Australian buying power meant that purchasing shoes was more or less a steal! So dirt cheap and very bad in the end for my purse strings. In the past three weeks I have found myself the owner of eight new pairs of shoes and have I worn them all?!!…heck no!!
My biggest fashion love at the moment is colour! I love colour and all eight pairs of suede shoes are bursting with excitement! Bring on bright colours and bold shoes!
Fashion: Neon Pink
Neon like any great fashion trend is making a resurgence this summer! It is all over Asia, Europe and hitting our shores as we speak. When fashion already includes so much, does it include your home as well? Check this awesome neon pink fence I found in South Yarra! Definitely makes a statement doesn’t it?
Food: Dumpling Heaven!
Looking for a new cheap haunt to venture to? Check out Shanghai Village Dumpling Palace. The food here is delicious and an absolute steal! Such good food for literally nothing. This is my new favourite in Melbourne City and 100% my favourite place to patron in China Town. My favourite is the spicy chicken on rice and it’s only $7.50 - you are pretty much guaranteed to pay no more than $15 bucks max each.
So get yourself to Shanghai Village, an absolute must dining experience! Get in early as there are literally queue, but you will not be disappointed with the wait. This place is a well oiled machine comprising many levels of happy diners!
